Trellis employment specialists invest time in learning each person’s unique abilities and interests.
The meticulous discovery process includes interviews with the potential employee as well as key individuals in his/her life, home visits, skill observation, and more. Once interviews are finished, we’ve created a vocational profile that will help match the person with potential work opportunities.
As we believe in creating win-win connections for both the employers and employees, we’ll arrange tailored informational interviews as well as job shadows to further discern abilities and interests and corresponding work possibilities.
Using the detailed vocational profile, employment specialists create a personalized discovery report that will help guide employment plans.
Job Development
As an Oregon Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Vendor, Trellis can move smoothly from discovery to job development, as we network with Portland business community members. These valuable connections often help us uncover ideal hidden jobs in the market.
Job Coaching
Ongoing success is the goal. Trellis employment specialists partner with the local employer to train the employee. We complete a task analysis and suggest changes that can enhance job performance.
Additionally, we can:
- Provide an on-site working interview that allows the employee and employer to see if the position is an ideal fit.
- Assist with on-site social-skill training as well as vocational training for the employee, including sharing co-worker strategies that provide support and create success.
- Facilitate employee-employer communication with the goal of establishing a positive work environment that will help create an ongoing positive and beneficial experience for everyone.
